Full Month Celebration

Well, E is not exactly full month yet till 9th August 08 but we brought forward the celebration just so that his paternal grandma can be around.

Hubby, MIL and I spent the entire Saturday preparing the ingredients for the celebration's feast...and of coz not forgetting to mention that we woke up right after E's first morning feed on the celebration day (3rd August 08, Sunday) to cook and prepare...(Yawns!!!)MIL and I were juggling with the kitchen and baby while hubby was responsible for setting up porch for the bbq. Dark clouds covered the skies in the morning as the preparations were taking place...we were all crossing our fingers that the weather would be better by noon. Thank god, Mr Weather was very cooperative. Our lunch gathering was blessed by a cool weather. By 11am, we finally finished cooking and setting up. (Thankfully, E decided to sleep in longer that morning)

Yes, we are proud parents of our Lil' Ethan..*grins*

All's not done as yet. Without much rest, we then conducted the symbolic Full Month "hair-cutting ceremony" for our little baby. As E has just woken up from his sleep, it was pretty easy for MIL to cut his hair. No struggle and cries *phews*. We only cut a little at the back of the head instead of the usual shaving of the entire crop. (Well, we decided that it was safer to do the shaving when E's four months old coz we reckon his skull will be harder and he will be more stable)

After that, it was bathtime for E. As usual, his daddy and I were greeted by his smelly poo when we changed him. Before I could even finish bathing him, E was crying at the top of his lungs. He wants his morning feed and he wants it IMMEDIATELY!!!

Guests started streaming in while E was having his morning feed..and for the entire afternoon, I was occupied with attending to my little prince, entertaining the guests and trying to grab a bite and drink now and then. Well, E must have knew that he was the big shot of the day...his behaviour was not as usual...he decided to be very hungry most of the time (keeping me away with him in the bedroom)...and when he finally falls asleep, he would wake up just five to ten minutes later...Guessed he is overwhelmed by the turnout of the guests and the cluttering around him.

The lunch celebration ended by 3pm. We really hope they had a great time...or should I say...we think they did enjoyed the food and gathering. All the food (except a tray of marinated chicken wings) were wiped out :). What's left was the cleaning up to do...thankfully, a couple of friends stayed behind to help clear up(BIG THANKS to you guys!You know who you are..:p). By the time the entire house was back to normal, things kept away, floor vaccummed and mopped...it was almost 5pm! We were all dead-beat!

Despite the fatigue from the massive preparation and post-event clean-up, Hubby and I were glad the entire celebration turned out well. A big thanks to all friends who took the time off to join in the celebration of Ethan's full month. We would also like to thank you guys for your wonderful and thoughtful presents and angbaos. Our apologies if we fell short in our hospitality or if you haven't fill your tummy enough. We promise we do better at E's next party :p
